I miss you so

I Miss You So is a media art piece that explores longing and yearning for another person.

“The work originated from the social isolation caused by the exceptional circumstances of spring 2020. I started my process with a very everyday challenge: how could I create portraits of people without meeting them? How could a video call replace physical presence? How can I express longing without touch? The videos and photographs in the piece were captured during FaceTime calls. I built an altar around the phone, intended to sanctify an event that feels mundane yet at the same time fragile and intimate. Through the flowers, I wanted to express something meaningful about the person being portrayed and my relationship with them. The flowers also serve as symbols of hope, collected from my own garden as spring progressed. The process made me reflect on how unique and beautiful the feeling of longing is. It speaks volumes about the conditions of being human and the power of love.”
